Alan was a wit, and he was always laughing. I still remember a time in 8th grade at Benny when one of the science teachers made some crack directed at Alan, and Alan glanced up at him and just said, "Jealous?". The whole class cracked up.
I've been waiting over 50 years for someone to give me that kind of a setup, and it still hasn't happened.
I don't remember Alan ever having a bad word to say about anyone. We lost him way too soon.
