Jim passed away July 2020 of a heart attack per his wife's Christmas card in 2021. He had been living in Deerbrook, WI at the time of his death.

The contents of Jim's Obituary on the Antigo Daily Journal website is as follows:

 James "Jim" King, of Deerbrook, died at his home on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, of a heart attack. He was 64 years old. 

 He was born on June 3, 1956, in Waukegan, Ill., a son of Edward and Lois (Eschenbauch) King. Jim married Melissa Burkhart on Nov. 2, 1980, at the First Congregational Church in Waukegan.

 Jim was a graduate of Waukegan East High School. He was employed at Cribb Fine Food in Waukegan for many years.

 He also worked at Habor Food in Winthrop Harbor before moving to Summit Lake in 2010. He was most recently employed at the BP gas station in Summit Lake.

 He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. Jim enjoyed going to car shows, four wheeling, snowmobiling and working out in the garage.

 Survivors include his wife, Melissa; a daughter, Michelle (Ricky) Dove of Kentucky; two sons, John (Mary) King of Virginia and Shawn (Ashley) King of Delavan; six grandchildren, Kyle King, Charlotte and Henry King, and Zehira, Alisa and Edward King; and a sister, Debbie King of Green Bay. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents. 

 A private service will be held. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
