Waukegan High School

West & East Campus Tours
On the morning of Saturday, September 21, 2024 approximately 40 classmates from the WTHS Class of 1974 and their guests took a step back in time to visit both campuses of our High School and relive their memories.
Led by current Waukegan High School English/Language Arts teacher, Jason Blair, interested classmates first visited the building we all called West Campus, where we all started as freshmen and some of us remained as sophomores. Nowadays, it is referred to as the Brookside Campus. One highlight of our visit was the remodeled Trapp Auditorium, named for Waukegan High School West Campus Principal Orlin Trapp. The auditorium is the largest auditorium in Lake County, seating over 1,900 people and has been in use for 50 years.
After a visit of about one hour, the group travelled, past Weiss Field, to East Campus, where we were all reunited as juniors and seniors. Just like "West" Campus, what we knew as East Campus is now known as the Washington Campus. At the end of our tour, the entire group gathered in the historic gym for a group photo.
Many thanks to Jason Blair for leading us for this enjoyable trip down memory lane!
